How extraordinary.....

The Face Book social network in its entirety has proven itself to many to be a positive and innovative invention. It is sighted by the world as the most personal social network ever configured. However, it is this same positive feature that enables its detrimental factors.
The Face Book, also known to many as The Book, has literally changed the way the entire world connects socially. It has revamped especially cell phone distribution. The cell phone distributors/ manufacturers are hiring and firing creators/ architects every day. This is mainly due to the need to keep up with other distributors. One key factor is that all smart phones have to have The Face Book app; this is just a general requirement now of days. If not, Internet accessibility has to be optimum; a quick and easy process. Last year, BlackBerry added The Face Book as one of its premier apps in an attempt to compete with sale of phone devices such as, the IPhone and all other Android devices. The application is re-configured and updated monthly. It is swift and it allows those who prefer the BlackBerry device not to be lead astray by other phones.
Through The Face Book many people connect with people who can be of service to them professionally and vice verso. It allows us to network in a new manor. I am in no way denouncing the traditional networking standard as it is still the optimum way to network with others. However it is making things a lot easier, and when you go to networking events business cards now read the persons Face Book account.
This invention is being used in all social settings including the world of academia. Everyday more and more teachers are using The Face Book to connect with their students. Whether it is discussion forums or class based pages, teachers are now able to connect with their students outside of class. Don’t get me wrong we’ve had email for a while, however students were not always so inclined to check there emails. Now connecting with teachers is not a hassle because you’re already there. This device is making things easier and aiding the world in its launch into a fast paced tech era. The Face Book unites everyone in spite of race, age, interest and life style.
Along with all the positive factors “which have not been listed in their entirety” are the many negatives. One of most major negatives that to some may double as a positive is the personal aspect of The Face Book. Without permission or prompted request of consent, some apps on the social network are configured to search and find information that some would deem private. For sake of accountability, when you create an account you are asked to provide personal information such as your phone number, address, school, and occupation. Many feel that this it isn’t unnecessary to request this very private information. This is thought by many to be unnecessary due the fact that it is already such an unsecured and open engine. Although reassured by Face Book technicians that the theft of information will not occur, many fear that this type of information is too personal.
Sadly this is due to another negative that can be found on the face book. That is the horrible invention of the hate page. Hateful users in a variety of ages and back rounds are using face book to connect with other hateful users. These pages are not so blatantly put up anymore, however they are still around. The hate page and its negative affects seem to be lingering around the youth now of days. People are creating more personal hate pages about people they know. These users are literally ruining the lives of many. Whether the situation be as small as rival sports teams to enemies; there have been countless boys and girls who have feel victim to the Hate Page.
In the past the YouTube video manager was used in this way. However the Face Book hate pages seem to be hitting home. There has been record breaking violence surrounding the configuration of the Hate Page. Whether it comes down to social alienation, fist fights, or suicide these pages are causing much damage to those subjected to its razor edge. There are even reports of lost jobs due to a pages creation. The motive is not always known. But one thing for certain is that defamation of character is the act carried out.
Other negatives that are not as big are the portrayal of emotions and mental standing. Many people will see this as a small negative if that at all. I disagree. When you look at someone’s page, you are most likely led to believe that he or she is having the best/worst time of their lives. While most aim towards for the “I’m Okay” perspective, this is most certainly not the case for all.
If you were to sit back and think about it, with all the good things one could write about them, he or she could easily convince themselves that are actually doing as good as their making it seem. Due to the fact that it is so regularly used, over a substantial amount of time one can undergo a severe lack of progress, which is something a lot of youth are currently suffering from. So in that sense it is one of the major negative factors.
Overall, the positive factors of The Face Book will outnumber the negatives. This does not mean that the negatives should go unnoticed. With all due respect this social network engine was created to make things easier and in no way were these negatives foreseen. In end result the configuration of The Face Book changed the way the world connects socially and should be compared to the invention of the email. Some would even argue that it should be compared to the invention of the telephone.
